Fire Alarm System Earns Nationwide Agency Listings and Certifications

Gamewell-FCI by Honeywell announced its S3 Series addressable fire alarm control panel and accessories have earned approved listings and certifications from Factory Mutual (FM), California State Fire Marshal, City of New York and City of Chicago, in addition to its current Underwriters Laboratories (UL) listing.

The S3 Series is the industry’s first small, addressable system that features an intuitive, touch-screen display to simplify system use for facility managers and first responders. With countless S3 Series systems already installed throughout the U.S., these agency approvals further validate the integrity of this fire alarm technology’s innovative, code-compliant capabilities.

“Building owners have really taken to the S3 Series’ touch-screen; I think because it’s so powerfully-intuitive and very different from anything else out there,” said Brian Carlson, marketing manager, Gamewell-FCI. “Now with all of these listings, AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) can be completely comfortable with this technology being installed anywhere in their region.”

Whether used as a standalone system or as part of an extensive network serving the fire protection and emergency communication needs of a multi-building campus, the S3 Series ensures straightforward operation, particularly during stressful emergency events.

The S3 Series panel interface dramatically improves how an end user and first responder interact with the device, eliminating confusing buttons and cryptic text displays commonly found on other systems. Its full-color, touch-screen interface centers on three main operations: system status, event details and service mode.

The S3 comes standard with five additional physical press-buttons located under the touch-screen display that can be customized to perform any command, such as temporarily disable/enable certain devices, control building management devices, and perform a service by-pass.
