HES Launches Redesign and New Magnetic Installation Template Kit

HES, an ASSA ABLOY Group company, has launched a completely redesigned version of the surface-mounted electric strike for use with ¾” rim exit devices, the HES 9600. HES is also offering a brand new magnetic template, the 9000-MTK, that makes installations even easier.

The updated 9600 Series is stronger, sleeker and easier to install. This Grade 1, windstorm-rated electric strike has been re-engineered for greater strength and durability, with a static strength up to 2,000 lbs. (25% increase) and dynamic strength of 120 ft-lbs. (40% increase) and an endurance of 1,000,000 cycles – independently verified by a nationally recognized testing laboratory. The sleek new stainless steel cover complements any exit devices for a cohesive appearance and is available in seven finishes to match any décor. The decorative cover is conveniently separate from the base, making adjustments between fail safe mode and fail secure mode simple and easy.

“In an increasingly dynamic industry, we are working hard to continually improve even our most popular products,” said Michael Webb, vice president of new product development, ASSA ABLOY EMS & OEM Group. “Our goal is also to deliver a positive experience to those out in the field installing our strikes everyday – which is why we went to the drawing board and designed the updated 9600 to not only be stronger and more attractive, but also to improve the installation process.”

The HES 9500 Series, the fire-rated surface mounted electric strike solution has also been redesigned on the same platform.

To complement the new 9600 and 9500 and the current 9400 electric strikes, HES has introduced the 9000-MTK, metal template kit. This magnetic installation template adheres to the frame to help installers quickly and accurately align the latchbolt of the rim exit device with the strike and determine where to drill the mounting holes.
