IC Real Tech Shows its First 4K Resolution Video Surveillance Camera

IC Real Tech is marching into the Ultra HD era with its first 4K network camera, to be demonstrated at the 2015 ICES in Las Vegas, NV January 6–9 (Sands Expo, booth #70223).

Defined and approved by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), an Ultra HD 4K display has 3,840 x 2,160 pixel resolution with an expanded color space, in a 16:9 format, and uses progressive scanning at 25/30 Hz. This equates to four times the resolution of 1080p HDTV.

The company’s 4K camera, marketed under its security channel-specialized IC Realtime brand, complies with the UHD standard, making use of a 12-Megapixel sensor (4,000 x 3,000 pixels).  The camera operates at 15 frames per second (fps) and 4K at 30 fps preview, with a suggested bandwidth at 8 Mbps (ensures a smooth live-view, free of network resource waste).  High-performance digital signal processing provides exceptional detail, and a triple-streams option technology satisfies various applications demands.

The camera supports multi-functions such as ultra-defog, ROI and intelligent detections, face detections, tripwire, intrusion and scene change (sends alerts when suspicious incident / behavior is detected).

“While 4K is becoming more common in the consumer electronics marketplace relative to TVs and home theater film screens, there is very little video content to speak of,” said IC Real Tech CEO Matt Sailor.  “IC Real Tech is amongst the first to offer a camera that captures video in 4K, taking surveillance to an entirely new level.”

At the ICES, the company will demonstrate live the first of its planned 4K offerings, the IC Realtime 12-Megapixel bullet camera. The model will make its way to market April 2015 at MSRPs of $1,200 to $1,700, depending on options.

  • The Future is Happening Outside the Cloud

For years, the cloud has captivated the physical security industry. And for good reason. Remote access, elastic scalability and simplified maintenance reshaped how we think about deploying and managing systems. But as the number of cameras grows and resolutions push from HD to 4K and beyond, the cloud’s limits are becoming unavoidable. Bandwidth bottlenecks. Latency lags. Rising storage costs. These are not abstract concerns. Read Now
