France Refuses to Fuel the Fire of Terrorism

The filming of action movies on the streets of Paris has been banned in response to last month’s terrorist attacks. With such high-tension in this country demonstrated by armed police and soldiers posted outside sensitive sites like synagogues, media offices and big shopping areas, officials fear that fictional car chases may confuse and scare citizens. Officials are also concerned that actors in costumes, dressed like security guards, police officers and other officials, could be mistaken for actual professionals in those professions, luring terrorists to attack.

The ban prevents the filming of car chases, police, security services, religious sites and schools at the country’s capital, making the ban the most recent effort of the French government to maintain order while promoting a sense of safety and security throughout Paris.

No one knows how long the ban will actually last, but it caused the French movie Flics Tout Simplement to be suspended due to a scene with a police officer outside of a school.
