Alarm Industry Seeks Answers in the Issue of Dropped Signals
CSAA International announced that the Alarm Industry Communications Committee (AICC) has launched an industry-wide survey on the issue of dropped signals involving Digital Alarm Communications Transmitters (DACT). The survey aims to collect information on how the telecom network’s move towards Internet Protocol (IP) affects these signals.
“We want to better understand the impact these changes have on alarm communications coming into central stations,” said Gordon Hope, vice president of marketing and business development at Honeywell and a member of the CSAA Board of Directors. “Or signals not coming in, as the case may be.”
The survey can be found at and is open to all central stations in the industry.
Results of this research initiative will be reported at the next AICC meetings in March and June 2015.
