Synergy 3 Command and Control Platform Chosen for Jakarta International Airport

One of the world’s busiest airports has selected Synectics’ Synergy 3 command and control platform as the integrated airport security and safety management solution for its new terminal building.

Development of the Terminal 3 Ultimate at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, in conjunction with the revitalization of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, is part of the Indonesian Government’s plans to boost annual passenger numbers beyond 60 million people.

Working in partnership with systems integrator Jaya Teknik, the security management solution in the terminal development, Synectics has secured a significant contract to supply an integrated airport security and safety solution with their Synergy 3 command and control platform. Jaya Teknik is part of the Jaya Group of companies, one of the companies in the PT. Kawahape Jaya Consortium.

Airport operator PT. Angkasa Pura II (Persero) - (AP II) will use Synergy 3 to monitor and manage more than 6,000 integrated safety and security edge devices from a range of sub-systems; including CCTV cameras, access control panels, fire alarm points, baggage x-ray scanners and intelligent video analytics.

A flexible, open platform that is database agnostic, Synergy 3 enables alarms and events, security and process control sub-systems, video, and data to be monitored, recorded, and managed from a single unified operator interface. The fully customisable user interface and user-driven dynamic workflows that ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) were key features for AP II.

Linda Hadi, vice director at Jaya Teknik TICT Division, said, “Synectics was selected for this project because they were able to demonstrate extensive experience in designing and delivering mission critical solutions. It was essential we selected a partner who could provide a reliable, resilient and scalable solution that supported integration with multiple edge device sub systems. Another critical factor was the need to have access to dedicated local support, which Synectics provides through its regional office in Singapore.”

The solution will see integration with intelligent video analytics, access control, fire detection, baggage x-ray scanners and CCTV.

Chris Bishop, international business development manager at Synectics, said: “We are very excited to have been selected for such a high profile project in the ASEAN region. The innovative solution we are providing will enable AP II operators to dynamically manage all aspects of the airport security and safety infrastructure through our enterprise platform Synergy 3.”
