Kwikset Captures Electronic House Award

Kwikset has been awarded a prestigious Electronic House 2015 Products of the Year award for its SmartCode 916 Touchscreen Deadbolt. The Products of the Year awards recognize the best technologies, products and services for the Electronic House.

Award submissions were reviewed by a judging panel of several respected industry leaders along with the editors of Electronic House and CE Pro. Considerations for winning the award included creativity, innovation, functionality, and aesthetic and lifestyle benefits.

Winning in the category of Access Control, the SmartCode 916 Touchscreen Electronic Deadbolt provides all the features of Kwikset's highly-popular SmartCode 914 deadbolt lock - including keyless entry - combined with the added convenience and enhanced aesthetics of a capacitive touchscreen. Users can activate the SmartCode 916 Touchscreen with the touch of a hand. The touchscreen is very responsive, sensing every touch immediately for ultra-fast code entry. Also, a dedicated lock button allows for convenient, fast one-touch locking.

Another important and unique feature of the SmartCode 916 is SecureScreen. This feature can help mask “smudge” attacks, in which usercodes can potentially be jeopardized by detecting frequently used numbers from the oily residues on the touchscreen surface.

Snap One has announced its popular Luma x20 family of surveillance products now offers even greater security and privacy for home and business owners across the globe by giving them full control over integrators’ system access to view live and recorded video. According to Snap One Product Manager Derek Webb, the new “customer handoff” feature provides enhanced user control after initial installation, allowing the owners to have total privacy while also making it easy to reinstate integrator access when maintenance or assistance is required. This new feature is now available to all Luma x20 users globally. “The Luma x20 family of surveillance solutions provides excellent image and audio capture, and with the new customer handoff feature, it now offers absolute privacy for camera feeds and recordings,” Webb said. “With notifications and integrator access controlled through the powerful OvrC remote system management platform, it’s easy for integrators to give their clients full control of their footage and then to get temporary access from the client for any troubleshooting needs.”
