Honeywell Brings High Definition to Analog Video Surveillance
Honeywell introduces its High Quality Analog (HQA) to its Performance Series lineup, a video surveillance solution that provides high-resolution images on analog infrastructures, reducing the time and costs typically associated with installing new IP or hybrid HD systems.
Honeywell HQA uses high-definition over coax (HDoC) technology, allowing dealers to use existing analog cable to get HD quality without the need to design new infrastructure or rip and replace wires. Additionally, a choice of nine different cameras and nine DVRs make it a more cost-effective solution than IP products.
“HD quality has become an expectation in the surveillance industry because having sharp images is essential to the jobs of security personnel,” said Alan Stoddard, senior director of marketing, Honeywell. “This system allows you to convert your existing analog cable, use your existing infrastructure, and see HD video without the expense of an IP system. For customers seeking HD functionality who may not be ready to replace – not to mention relearn – entire infrastructures, the Performance Series HQA is the ideal solution.”
HDoC technology enables 720p or 1080p high-definition analog cameras at short and long range. Incorporating True Day/Night features, they can be added to existing non-HD analog cameras without network interference to minimize downtime.
