CABLETRONIX Announces CT-EDID-1 HDMI EDID Manager

CABLETRONIX is proud to introduce the CT-EDID-1 Extended Display Identification Data Manager and Controller. This device resolves frustrating "handshake" issues between HDMI connected sources and displays.

HDMI transmission and display devices encompass multiple EDID protocols which need to harmonize to show proper audio and video. Inconsistencies or conflicts with the digital handshake result in problems spanning audio and video sync, resolution issues, or no picture and/or audio. The growth of 4K, 3D, and CEC technologies (consumer electronic control) make EDID management essential. The CT-EDID-1 locks the resolution of HDMI sources to mitigate handshake issues between sources and devices such as HDMI splitters, switches, receivers, and more by using a comprehensive list of sixteen resolutions and audio formats to ensure compatibility between HD sources.

"I am particularly excited by this release,” stated North American Cable Equipment, Inc. CEO Aaron Starr. "This is a unique piece for the installer in need of resolving troubling HDMI handshake issues. Our design team worked to put together this small, economical, and versatile unit to assure communications with various signal types used in the market today. This is a great little tool to keep in your kit and get your installation out of a jam."
