AS&E Awarded $11.6 Million Service and Maintenance Renewal Contract in Latin America

American Science and Engineering, Inc. (AS&E), a supplier of innovative X-ray detection solutions, announced that it has received an $11.6 million multi-year contract from a Latin American government agency to continue servicing and maintaining its AS&E X-ray inspection systems in support of its counter-drug and anti-terrorism missions. The agency has deployed multiple AS&E systems throughout the country, including ZBV mobile vehicle and cargo inspection systems as well as fixed vehicle, cargo, and parcel screening systems.

“We are very pleased that this important customer has chosen us for continuing support of its fleet of AS&E detection solutions,” said Chuck Dougherty, AS&E's president and CEO. “This contract renewal reflects the hard work and dedication of our worldwide Services team, which has gone above-and-beyond to ensure that the customer enjoys more than 95% uptime and has immediate access to expert AS&E technicians who are strategically deployed in-country, fully aligned with its needs. Our team’s well-deserved reputation as the industry’s best service provider — demonstrated once again by this contract renewal — is enabling us to strategically grow our service business with new customers for traditional services as well as new and repeat customers for our expanded offerings.”
