Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings will look into getting extra security at the Dallas Police Department’s headquarters after a man attacked the building with guns and pipe bombs over the weekend.
No police officers were injured during the attack, but glass windows have since been boarded up.
“Our Dallas police officers risk their lives daily to keep us safe,” Rawlings said in a statement released late Sunday. “In turn, it is our responsibility as elected officials to make sure we do everything within reason to ensure they return home to their families every day.”
James Boulware, the man behind the attack, was killed by a sniper after a chase and standoff in his armored van.
