After two inmates escaped a maximum-security prison in upstate New York last month, a new superintendent has been named and a range of new security measures have been put in place.
Michael Kirkpatrick will be the new superintendent of the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, replacing Steven Racette.
New security measures include stepped-up searches of inmates’ cells, staffing changes and installation of security gates in the facility’s tunnels.
