IC Real Tech Creates Virtual Reality Viewing App for the 2015 MISS USA Pageant

IC Real Tech, a global innovator of Internet of Things-enabled video technologies, today announced it has embarked on a partnership with the 2015 MISS USA Pageant and created an App called the Miss USA 720 Experience. Available now from iTunes and Google Play, the free App lets iPhone, iPad and Android users view contestants behind-the-scenes in a 360 x 360-degree Immersive Video format. The MISS USA Pageant takes place July 12th in Baton Rouge, LA.

The Miss USA 720 Experience App leverages IC Real Tech’s ALLie Virtual Reality cameras which will be placed behind-the-scenes as well as on the pageant stage. ALLie is a revolutionary dual-megapixel-sensor camera that captures motion video in Ultra-High Definition (4K) from floor-to-ceiling and completely around itself (360-degrees vertically by 360-degrees horizontally), leaving no area uncovered.

Three separate ALLie cameras will stream live 360 x 360-degree video. People will have the option to choose between behind-the-scenes views of the 51 contestants as they do their final mirror check before heading out on-stage; new perspectives of stage views and catching what takes place in the audience.

The App lets users select who and what they’d like to see with fully-spherical immersive views achieved by pointing or panning the device in any direction (up/down/left/right) or by traditional touches and swipes of the device screen (touch control also accesses zoom feature).

Additionally, previously recorded Road to The Crown footage was shot in the 360x360 format on the ALLie camera and will be available for viewing. Footage includes hometown visits with a few randomly chosen contestants and behind-the-scenes previews of dress rehearsals and pre-show events in Baton Rouge.

“IC Real Tech is thrilled to be partnered with such an illustrious group as the Miss Universe Organization,” said IC Real Tech CEO Matt Sailor. “Pageant fans will find our Miss USA 720 Experience App will make them feel like they’re right there, alongside their favorite contestants.”

“The 2015 MISS USA Pageant will be the most interactive show to date for fans and viewers,” said Dena Muehlfeld, director of Digital Multimedia at the Miss Universe Organization. “We are excited to add the Miss USA 720 Experience App to the pageant’s digital and social integrations.”

The Miss USA 720 Experience App is available now as a free download at iTunes and Google Play.
