Nortek Security & Control Now Offering Numera Libris through A.P.I. Monitoring and Security Central

Nortek Security & Control LLC announced that the Numera Libris mobile Personal Emergency Response Systems (mPERS) is now supported by Security Central and A.P.I. Monitoring services. Numera Libris is immediately available to all Security Central and A.P.I. Monitoring partners in the U.S.

Numera Libris is a feature-rich mPERS device designed for instant, hands-free communication with monitoring services such as those offered by Security Central and A.P.I. Monitoring. Numera Libris provides proactive care management with its GPS location services, cellular connection and the most advanced fall detection available. Libris is the starting point for a broader, network-based monitoring and telehealth platform that Numera is developing.

"Mobile health devices are critical for aging adults who want to stay in their homes as long as possible, and we believe the Numera Libris solution offers the best combination of technology and functionality to help people live longer, healthier, and more independently in their homes," said Lewis Jacobson, director of dealer sales, A.P.I. Monitoring.

Both Security Central and A.P.I. Monitoring are independent, family-owned businesses that provide premium monitoring and dispatch services to hundreds of thousands of people across the U.S.

"Security Central and A.P.I. Monitoring deliver exceptional service with compassion and respect, and both are supported by state-of-the-art technology that ensures the monitoring services remain available all the time, without disruption," said John Carpenter, vice president channel engagement, Nortek Security & Control. "The success of our Numera Libris solution depends, in large part, on our partners, which is why we do not sell directly to consumers and compete with our partners.  We are excited to work with two of the best out there."

Numera Libris travels virtually anywhere, delivering the functionality of mPERS and a personal health device. When integrated with Security Central or A.P.I. Monitoring's infrastructure, Numera Libris is designed for instant hands-free communication with monitoring services, automated fall-detection, GPS location services and remotely managed two-way voice communication both inside and outside of the home. Libris connects wherever there's a cellular signal and offers more specific location data than a 9-1-1 call from a cell phone; it doesn't require a button-push, which is critical when every second matters.

"Mobile health monitoring technology and solutions like Numera are changing how health care is delivered,” said Jacobson. “With Libris, users and care teams will be able to more effectively monitor chronic conditions, reduce emergency room visits and detect falls before they happen. From a response perspective, Numera allows our monitoring center team to quickly identify the cause of an alarm via sensor data or two-way voice communication to respond immediately for the best possible health outcome."
