New Samsung NVRs Feature Built in PoE/PoE+ Switches

Samsung Techwin America continues to develop solutions that deliver maximum performance and value with the release of its new NVRs at ASIS 2015 (booth # 1729). Available in 4-, 8- and 16-channel models, the units comes equipped with a built-in PoE/PoE+ network switch, eliminating the need for additional hardware and installation costs. In addition, the new NVRs enable an HDMI/VGA monitor to be connected and controlled with a USB mouse or IR remote for easy setup and monitoring. The 16 channel model, SRN – 1673S is equipped with front accessible hard drives, allowing for easy convenience.  The NVRs menu-driven wizard and GUI-based camera image and motion detection setup allows for easy plug-and-play setup.

“Industry professionals have made it clear that in order to get the most out of their HD video surveillance systems, they need solutions that deliver both high performance and value, and are easy to use,” said Tom Cook, executive vice president of Sales, North America, for Samsung Techwin America. “By incorporating a PoE/PoE+ network switch on-board these new NVRs, they deliver ultimate flexibility, affordability and extreme ease of use.”

The new NVR line-up includes:

  • SRN-473S 4-channel NVR offers 32Mbps network camera recording and is equipped with four PoE/PoE+ ports and up to4TB of storage.
  • SRN-873S 8-channel NVR offers 64Mbps network camera recording, includes eight PoE/PoE+ ports and can accommodate up to two HDDS or 8TB of storage.
  • SRN-1673S 16-channel NVR supports 80 Mbps network camera recording, incorporates 16 PoE/PoE+ ports and allows for up four HDDs or 16TB of storage, with front accessible hard drives.

  • The Future is Happening Outside the Cloud

For years, the cloud has captivated the physical security industry. And for good reason. Remote access, elastic scalability and simplified maintenance reshaped how we think about deploying and managing systems. But as the number of cameras grows and resolutions push from HD to 4K and beyond, the cloud’s limits are becoming unavoidable. Bandwidth bottlenecks. Latency lags. Rising storage costs. These are not abstract concerns. Read Now
