Samsung Adds New Open Platform Application Partners

Samsung Techwin America will introduce two new application partners at this year’s ASIS (booth # 1729). Using Samsung’s Open Platform feature, analytics provider IntuVision and cloud provider SmartVue have integrated their technology with Samsung’s WiseNet III line of cameras. The integrations provide users with the opportunity to deploy these applications to complement their video surveillance solutions, further enhancing the already feature-rich cameras.

“We are continually seeking new partners whose technology integrates well with our WiseNet III cameras to provide end users additional functions that meet their specific needs and increase the overall value of their video surveillance system,” said Tom Cook, vice president, Sales, Samsung Techwin America. “As our latest application partners, IntuVision and SmartVue offer unique feature sets that deliver a cost-effective way for customers to further extend the functionality of their WiseNet III cameras.”

Based in Woburn, MA, IntuVision is a video analytics company that provides people counting software ideal for retail applications. The company offers custom video analytics solutions, providing customers with the flexibility to choose the feature set that best meets their specific requirements, while paying only for those features they use.

Nashville, TN-based SmartVue is the first cloud provider to develop an application for Samsung’s Open Platform. Under this partnership, WiseNet III cameras will now be part of the SmartVue Cloud Package. This cloud-based video surveillance solution allows users to pay a monthly fee for off-site storage, allowing customers to save on costs for servers, maintenance, utilities and other related expenses. SmartVue’s Microsoft Certified Cloud Server also ensures data is secured against cyberattacks and video can be viewed from anywhere in the world.

Samsung’s Open Platform makes it possible for third-party companies to use standardized APIs to develop applications for WiseNet III cameras. The open framework allows a wide variety of applications to be installed on WiseNetIII cameras to provide advanced functions including: Cloud connectivity, video direct to storage, people counting, intrusion detection, queue management, license plate recognition, face capture and recognition, transit and cargo recognition.

Additional companies that have Apps available for Samsung WiseNet III cameras include PlateSmart for LPR, Agent VI for video analytics and Veracity for direct-to-storage video transfer from the camera.
