Securitech Displays Innovations in Locking Devices at ASIS 2015

Securitech has a wide range of unique locking solutions on display at this year’s ASIS Security Seminar and Exhibits. With specific product lines available for myriad applications ranging from classrooms, to tornado, blast and forced-entry resistant doors, to high-security storage, and convenient Bluetooth entry functionality for tenants and visitors, Securitech solves longstanding locking challenges while maintaining critical life safety functionality.

“Satisfying emerging locking needs has led to the creation of products designed to deliver optimum security along with ease of use and installation for specific industries,” said Mark Berger, president and chief product officer, Securitech. “And if we don’t have what you need to best meet your locking challenges, we excel at innovative, out-of-the-box solutions.”

Locking solutions being demonstrated at ASIS include:

QID Series Classroom Locks

Securitech makes classroom security faster, easier and stronger with its QID (Quick Intruder Deadbolt) Classroom Lock. Designed to exceed safe school government standards (FEMA-428/BIPS-07), the QID serves as a classroom lock for everyday use but features the unique ability to instantly deadbolt a classroom door with the simple push of a single red button. The QID lock is 100% code compliant and presents a number of advantages over other classroom locks. It combines the fast locking of a one inch deadbolt with the single-action egress required for occupant safety. Just as important, the door is always able to be unlocked by key from the outside. This critically important outside key access enables First Responders or other authorized staff to enter the room quickly, if needed – something which classroom door blocking products do not allow. The QID Cylindrical series locks have been recently enhanced to make installation even faster and easier.

LEXI Electronic Release Exit Device Lever Trim

LEXI continues to be the code-compliant, easy-to-install “go-to” product for systems integrators. LEXI provides electronic release to allow unlocking using keys, card access, keypads, intercom, push-button, or any other release system while retaining the use of panic bars and other existing life safety exit devices. LEXI is the uniform cross-campus solution, allowing a single electric release method to be used on exit devices from multiple manufacturers. This is a great advantage, as students and other users utilize a common entry method and maintenance shops only need to maintain one type of electric release technology for all installations, both new and retrofit. Integrators and locksmiths continue to bring new or updated exit devices to Securitech’s attention, and the company continues to offer new solutions. For example, LEXI can now add electric release entry to virtually all Von Duprin exit devices, including old cross bar devices and the newest models from Allegion.

Trident High Security Multi-Point Locking

Trident systems provide instant deadbolt protection every time the door closes, defying even determined break-in attempts. Installing a Trident system takes less than two hours and Securitech provides built-in life safety and code compliance to protect residents and staff. The Trident system now offers an upgrade to a delayed egress system, which is being retrofit to many existing Trident installations. Trident was built with an open architecture, so alarms, signaling, keyed or electric release entry and delays can be added to current models.

Blast or Forced Entry Products

Securitech remains the choice of leading blast and forced entry door manufacturers. Recent high profile installations involving custom model designs include New York City’s new emergency call center and the new World Trade Center vehicle management and inspection facilities.

Intrinsically Safe Exit Devices

There has been a marked increase recently in the need for exit devices to be installed in places where special switch arrangements are needed. These switches cannot have voltage present or produce a spark when operating to provide protection from explosion in hazardous environments. To respond to this need, Securitech offers a method of adding intrinsically safe switches to their full line of exit devices and Control Trim. Multiple-point deadbolt exit devices can now be used on doors to hazardous locations, such as water treatment facilities, gas cylinder storage and many others while preserving life safety for the staff or visitors in these areas.
