Bring on the Business

I've been coming to this tradeshow for a long time. This week's ISC West has been one of the most successful on record. It's not just a matter of having throngs of people, but how well versed and interested the attendees are in matters of security.

Without exception, every exhibitor I talked to has been extremely pleased.

For me, I believe I have been able to line up some excellent editorial opportunities for the remainder of 2016. Readers of Security Products magazine will be in for a real treat in terms of case studies and thought leadership articles for the remainder of the year.

This is what makes a tradeshow successful for me.

By my figures, I logged in more than 6 miles per day walking the show floor. And I thought I wouldn't be able to get enough exercise this week. I think I finally wore out my tradeshow shoes, and a new pair are in order.

Here are a couple of interesting visits from yesterday: Wurldtech is a GE company that is working on ways to protect critical infrastructure against cyber threats. Remember cyber security because this will be an active term in the physical security market for years to come. Their term is operational technology by securing cyber assets with purpose-built technology.

I always enjoy my visits with Sam Shanes at Talkaphone. Looking at their product line, if you think you're seeing double, well, Talkaphone has developed a tower arm accessory where two cameras can be placed on a tower, doubling the amount of surveillance for the end user.

There is more to come as we wrap up ISC West today and into the near future. Today is the final day on the floor, and I hope your experience with the exhibitors, solutions and technology continues on the highest level possible.

We're fortunate to have so many people involved in protecting lives, assets and property.
