Security Professionals Run for Children at Mission 500's 8th Annual Security 5K/2K at ISC West

Building on the success of the previous seven years, Mission 500 is once again urging ISC West attendees to register for this year’s annual Security 5K/2K run/walk (www.security5k.com). The event will be held from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, with proceeds from the fundraiser going to assist children in crisis in the United States.

“Since 2010, the Mission 500 Security 5K/2K has been a mainstay at ISC West, and we are grateful for the support we’ve received during that time,” said Jeff Eichenlaub, Director of Strategic Partnerships, Mission 500. “The security industry has truly rallied around this meaningful race, which gives participants the opportunity to raise money for a great cause and challenge themselves – and have fun in the process.”

Participants who succeed in raising $500 or more for children in crisis in the U.S will automatically be enrolled in the 500 Club. As added encouragement, the 2017 incentive will be a 500 Club branded Nike Dri-Fit Pull Over for those who participate. The Top Fundraiser who raises the most funds will win two nights in a luxurious suite at the Venetian or Palazzo Resort, two tickets to a Venetian or Palazzo show and a $500 travel voucher (terms and conditions apply).

The Security 5K/2K Reception as well as Mission 500’s CSR and Humanitarian Awards Ceremony will take place at 5:00p.m on April 6th on the SSN Media stage, located on the second floor of the Sands Convention Center. In addition to recognizing top fundraisers, the awards ceremony will highlight Mission 500's achievements and set the stage for even bigger things to come. Organizing sponsors and the Mission 500 organization will also present awards to runners in different age categories and to the top runners.

The Mission 500 Security 5K/2K event at the 2017 ISC West Expo in Las Vegas is a joint collaboration organized by United Publications, the publisher of Security Systems News, ISC Events and Mission 500. Charter sponsors are Alarm.com, Altronix Corporation, Axis Communications, Bosch Security, CMAC, COPS Monitoring, DMP, Freeman, FST Biometrics, Galaxy Control Systems, Honeywell Security, I-View Security, LRG Marketing Communications, MONI Smart Security, Napco Starlink, Pelco by Schneider Electric, Qolsys, Safety Technology International, Inc. and ScanScource. The race is operated by Las Vegas Running Company, a race management company that stages approximately 25 road races each year across Southern Nevada.

In addition to participating in and raising money for the Security 5K/2K, security industry professionals can support Mission 500 in a variety of ways, including volunteering to help with the Security 5K/2K and other events at ISC West or making financial donations. For information on all, contact Jeff Eichenlaub. All donations are tax-deductible and can be made with major credit cards. New—AMEX points can be donated by visiting AMEX Members Give page.
