OnSSI Drives VMS Beyond Conventional Security at ISC West 2017

OnSSI is showcasing the latest enhancements to its industry-leading Ocularis 5 Video Management Software (VMS) today at ISC West, including upcoming support for H.265 for bandwidth and storage optimization. Designed to exceed even the most demanding surveillance management and control applications, OnSSI continues to develop Ocularis for business intelligence applications that transcend traditional security operations.

“As surveillance and security systems continue to migrate to the enterprise, they are no longer perceived as siloed applications. The integration of previously non-related business operations with VMS solutions in areas such as human resources, process management, compliance and logistics are driving new business intelligence applications,” said Ken LaMarca, VP of Sales & Marketing, OnSSI. “Ocularis’ open platform provides the ideal foundation for new business intelligence solutions, and OnSSI is actively engaging technology partners around the world to develop and test new and exciting applications that further extend the role of VMS solutions on the enterprise level.”

The latest release of Ocularis (v5.3) being showcased here at ISC West 2017 features an improved user experience with vastly extended mobile capabilities. The new Ocularis 5 Mobile provides comprehensive alert and event processing with the ability to stream live video via an Android smartphone to Ocularis, and the ability to track mobile operators’ physical locations using GPS mapping. The updated Ocularis also includes a scalable web app, Client bandwidth optimization, expanded wide angle image dewarping support, additional Smart Camera Drivers, Windows Server 2016 support and a superior recording engine.

“These latest enhancements to Ocularis have far reaching benefits for conventional security operations, and for myriad business applications,” continued Mr. LaMarca. “For example, the ability to view events in the field via smartphone cameras and correlate them with GPS coordinates along with third-party integrations are ideal for applications like package tracking and fleet management. This effectively shifts the focus of the VMS from security to business operations when needed. OnSSI will continue to develop features for Ocularis that further enrich overall security and situational awareness and provide new solutions for long-standing business challenges.”
