Live from ISC West Day 2

Another busy day of ISC West 2017 is in the books, and with it came lots of new innovations in the security space.

NVIDIA, a first-timer at ISC West, was showing off its edge-to-cloud GPU computing platform, which allows for deep learning. The AI cities concept is on full display at booth #20075. A live stream of the technology showed it has the capabilities to identify cars and pedestrians to keep traffic moving.

A highlight at the Salient booth (26041) was the award-winning RED3 IS, an integrated server platform. This product offers a server, switch and software for professional video surveillance deployments. Adding a camera gives you an out-of-the-box, fully capable, professional class solution.

Open Options (#109) introduced its DNA Fusion Version 7 for the first time, which offers an integration with ISONAS and thyssenkrupp. DNA Fusion is not just software, but a platform, offering a Fusion Web application, Fusion Mobile application, FlexAPI, and Open DX.

Another exciting product can be found at the LILIN booth #4103. There, a Day & Night 1080P HD Auto Focus IR IP Camera was on display. This 2-megapixel camera integrates 10x or 20x optical Auto Focus lens to focus or zoom adjustments by clicking on browsers easily.

Everbridge (#3040) introduced me to a recently-acquired company, IDV Solutions at booth 3050. A natural progression of their work, IDV offers a command center that tracks sever weather, civil unrest, and more.

Finally, a demonstration of BCDVideo’s partnership with SentryMobile showcased turnkey body cam solutions at booth #18053. By bringing video recording and storage to mobile cameras, SentryMobile BodyCams provide an easy installation with no wait for parts.

My biggest takeaway from ISC West 2017 so far? The concept of “deep learning” and what it means for artificial intelligence’s place in the security industry. How does this concept fit into your business model? I’ll be looking for the answer to that question and more during day 3 of the show.
