It's Been Fun, Vegas

I have to say this have been the best show I’ve been to. The number of attendees, companies to check out, and the latest technologies out there proving that the future of the security industry is here, I’m a little sad the show is over. I’m already gearing up for next year.

I had the greatest time visiting booths, talking to new people, and spending time with those companies I already know and enjoy. I want to thank all of them for taking their time out of a very busy schedule to speak with me.

Here are two companies I got to visit with on my last day in Vegas:

IDIS. While at the show, this company introduced the latest additions and upgrades to it Total Solution. Among the several products to check out at their booth was the IDIS LightMaster, a low-light camera that provides enhanced visibility through defogging and light-enhancing settings. And a great solution featured there was the IDIS Long Reach PoE Extender, which supports Ethernet connection up to 500 meters. This helps end users and integrators to create networks where common cables can’t, and also provides a cost-effective solution to these environments. IDIS was also celebrating their 20th anniversary in the security industry, a truly amazing feat.

“Our first day on the show floor at the IDIS booth was a great success, and we were thrilled commemorate our 20 years in the video surveillance industry here at ISC West, where we launched IDIS America in 2015. The buzz surrounding the show and the latest in industry trends and innovations are clearly reflected in both the traffic and enthusiasm we’ve seen and we look forward to seeing what the next two days will bring.” – said Andrew Myung, president, IDIS America.

FST Biometrics. While at ISC West, this company announced the IMID Access 4.0. The enhancements of this version are second to none, offering amazing fraud detection capabilities where the technology can even detect if someone is trying to use a picture of a person they are trying to portray for entry into a secure area. The technology also has resolved the issue of face template aging after research has shown that the average person ages every 6 years. This technology demonstrates just how advanced biometrics is for identification.

“The customer relationships we’ve developed with our existing visual identification platform have helped us to take our technology to a new level. We believe 4.0 will be the global standard for visual identification solutions,” said Arie Melamed, chief marketing officer of FST Biometrics. “Adding deep learning algorithms to our product offerings will mean unparalleled accuracy, application flexibility and a seamless experience for customers and users alike.”
