Fire and Life Safety Products at ISC West

For fire & life safety products at ISC West this year, two companies stood out from the crowd.

Honeywell: With an impressive and busy booth this year, it was hard not to spend all day visiting this company. There were so many products on display and it's nearly impossible to choose just a few to highlight, but here they are. The L Series Notification System is a new line of fire and life safety notification devices from System Sensor that cover the full range of candela settings while having the lowest power consumption – up to 35 percent reduction across all settings. Also worthy of a mention are the next generation of addressable fire alarm control panels for Honeywell Silent Knight, the Honeywell Farenhyt Series and Fire-Lite. This updated technology offers simplified commissioning and programming, built-in POTS and IP communications, reduced installation costs in difficult-to-wire applications and full backwards compatibility.

Inovonics: At ISC West, Inovonics also had a large selection of products to check out at their booth. One in particular that stood out to me was the updated updates wireless smoke detector with new regulatory approvals. The release of its new EN1244 wireless smoke detector addresses a market need by meeting UL268 (Smoke Detectors for Fire Alarms) and California State Fire Marshall (CSFM) regulatory approvals. It features an onboard sounder, an LED indicator, tamper and local test. It's also monitored by the EchoStream network, alerting the user when sensor maintenance is needed or the battery is low. The detector also has separate SKUs for United States, Australia and New Zealand and is available with a 60 minute check-in for UL2560 senior living applications.

Fire and life safety is never anything to take lightly, and it was amazing to see these two companies working diligently to have some of the best products on the market for exactly that.
