Axis Communications Appoints Verena Rathjen as VP for Europe, Middle East and Africa

Vice president EMEA is a newly created position at Axis.

As vice president for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Verena Rathjen will take responsibility for Axis’ long-term success in the region and ensuring the strategic direction of the company’s expanded solution offering in a growing market.

"Axis is a fast-growing company, with a continuously expanding portfolio of products and solutions. Naturally, we need to develop our organization to further strengthen our leading position in a growing and changing market. The EMEA region is big and diverse, and shows a lot of opportunities. Verena Rathjen will have vital role in driving the strategic expansion of Axis’ business in this market and working together with very strong regional management teams,” says Bodil Sonesson, vice president for global sales at Axis.

Previously to joining Axis, Verena Rathjen’s most recent position was as vice president at global lighting company LEDVANCE, where she was responsible for the global SMART business and defining portfolio and business strategies for the LED business in Europe. She was also a member of the Supervisory Board of LEDVANCE and brings extensive experience from different management positions at Siemens and OSRAM, where she among other things actively promoted the shift towards smart solutions and services based on the Internet of things.

“My ambition and passion is to work with skilled and smart people to drive business growth and create value for our society. Axis’ vision to contribute to a smarter and safer world is in that matter highly relevant, and the strong company values were an instant fit to mine. I am therefore excited to further develop our portfolio across EMEA to create value for our customers and all of us in our daily lives,” says Verena Rathjen.

Vice president EMEA is a newly created position at Axis. Verena Rathjen joined the company in the end of 2017, and is based at Axis Munich office. She reports to Axis VP Global Sales Bodil Sonesson.
