IDSecurityOnline.com Kicks Off 2018 With New STEM Scholarship Program

Awards $1000 to University of Maine Student

IDSecurityOnline.com, a leading provider of ID card printers and photo ID systems, announced today that the company has launched a new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics) Scholarship Program in 2018 to help shape our leaders of tomorrow.   Taylor Delp, a pre-med senior at the University of Maine, was awarded the first $1000 Scholarship from IDSecurityOnline in early February.  This new scholarship program was developed as a way for the company to give back to the education community and help students achieve their educational goals.

Over the years, IDSecurityOnline has worked closely with K-12 schools and universities worldwide to help improve safety measures with the right ID Card Solutions; and is now adding to its roster a new way of supporting the education market by helping students progress and move closer to earning a degree.

The IDSecurityOnline STEM Scholarship Program rolled out in early 2018 and allows any graduate or under-graduate student attending an accredited four-year university in the U.S. that focuses on STEM to apply for the scholarship.  The program requires applicants to write a 1,000-word essay and answer one of three questions that focuses on technology and innovation. All submissions are reviewed and assessed by the IDSecurityOnline team and winners are selected based on originality, creativity, and quality.

IDSecurityOnline selected Mr. Delp’s submission due to his thorough and innovative research project. Mr. Delp plans to use the resources to “create a longitudinal project looking at early life brain development.” This venture would benefit five randomly selected infants born each day in an urban hospital over a one-year period.

“The education market has always been and will always be a core focus of IDSecurityOnline,” states Andrew Schonzeit, President of IDSecurityOnline.  “We are thrilled to offer this scholarship program to students and show our commitment and dedication to helping schools and students across the United States move forward and make a difference.”

In the future, IDSecurityOnline will be awarding the STEM Scholarship on an annual basis and continue to help students around the globe reach their educational goals.  For more information visit www.IDSecurityOnline.com

The security industry spans the entire globe, with manufacturers, developers and suppliers on every continent (well, almost—sorry, Antarctica). That means when regulations pop up in one area, they often have a ripple effect that impacts the entire supply chain. Recent data privacy regulations like GDPR in Europe and CPRA in California made waves when they first went into effect, forcing businesses to change the way they approach data collection and storage to continue operating in those markets. Even highly specific regulations like the U.S.’s National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) can have international reverberations – and this growing volume of legislation has continued to affect global supply chains in a variety of different ways.
