Success on the Show Floor

In order to measure success on any tradeshow floor, you must have a plan. My plan is to find well qualified, well written experts who can talk about their given subject for articles in Security Today magazine and for our website Security Today.

Today, I will begin my semi-annual assault of the tradeshow floor to find great stories for upcoming issues of Security Today, and for our social media presence. What I'm looking for mostly are great case studies that explain how a system is used, why it was used in a particular manner, and how it was installed. I'll also want to know how this benefited the end user.

I'm not alone in wanting this information. All 65,000 readers of our magazine will read about the security consultation, installation and why a particular solution best benefitted the end user. If you see me, say something. Let's talk about it.

Our team at Security Today magazine also is on a mission at GSX to honor those companies and the latest technology who entered our New Product of the Year, and give them the recognition they deserve. Dozens of companies entered our annual contest and several will walk away with the recognition of their hard work in bringing new solutions to the market.

I'm going to make a swing through the tradeshow hall and visit with people at some of the smaller exhibits to understand better the contribution they are making to the industry. I have a full schedule, thanks to our friendly media contact staff, but I've been known to deviate from my planned trips to seek something unique and unusual. If you have something interesting, let me know. I'll be here all three days.

Snap One has announced its popular Luma x20 family of surveillance products now offers even greater security and privacy for home and business owners across the globe by giving them full control over integrators’ system access to view live and recorded video. According to Snap One Product Manager Derek Webb, the new “customer handoff” feature provides enhanced user control after initial installation, allowing the owners to have total privacy while also making it easy to reinstate integrator access when maintenance or assistance is required. This new feature is now available to all Luma x20 users globally. “The Luma x20 family of surveillance solutions provides excellent image and audio capture, and with the new customer handoff feature, it now offers absolute privacy for camera feeds and recordings,” Webb said. “With notifications and integrator access controlled through the powerful OvrC remote system management platform, it’s easy for integrators to give their clients full control of their footage and then to get temporary access from the client for any troubleshooting needs.” 3
