Axis Showcases Discreet Corner Surveillance, Bullet Cameras and More

In its continued vision to innovate for a smarter, safer world, Axis Communications announced a new innovation for discreet corner surveillance and its latest innovations in bullet cameras and multidirectional cameras will be showcased at the Global Security Exchange (GSX) tradeshow in Las Vegas, NV, September 25-27.

"Our customers are continually confronted with new challenges and demands when it comes to the protection and enhancement of their businesses," said Fredrik Nilsson, VP, Americas, Axis Communications, Inc. "We're pleased to provide them, and our partners, with innovative and effective solutions—solutions that we look forward to showcasing at this year's Global Security Exchange."

Discreet, corner cameras

Axis recently released two models of AXIS P9106-V Network Cameras, which are ideal for corner surveillance. AXIS P9106-V Network Camera Brushed Steel model has a design that is ideal for blending into elevators, whereas AXIS P9106-V Network Camera White model is ligature-resistant, ideal for the healthcare sector. The 3 MP cameras are specially designed for out-of-the-box optimized corner-to-corner coverage. They can cover up to 130 degrees horizontally and 95 degrees vertically, without blind spots.

Both models are IK10- and IP66-rated for protection against impact, dirt and water. The hardened cameras are compatible with multiple connectivity options to allow installation in environments where infrastructure requirements are unique. Choose between: PoE, PoE over Coax, and PoE over 2-wire connections (separate connectivity devices required).

The cameras will be available in Q4 through Axis' standard distribution channels at the suggested retail price of $649 for AXIS P9106-V Network Camera Brushed Steel and $599 for AXIS P9106-V Network Camera White model.

Axis Communications has developed AXIS Q1785-LE and AXIS Q1786-LE, the next generation of network cameras with OptimizedIR for indoor and outdoor use. Additional AXIS Q17 Series key features:

  • High quality capture with AXIS Q1786-LE featuring 4 MP resolution / Quad HD 1440p at 50/60 fps and AXIS Q1785-LE delivering 2 MP / HDTV 1080p at 50/60 fps
  • OptimizedIR covering up to 262 feet

  • Electronic image stabilization, shock detection, scene profiles and defogging
  • Pre-installed AXIS Motion Guard, AXIS Fence Guard and AXIS Loitering Guard
  • Temperature range of -40 °F to +140 °F
  • Forensic WDR, Lightfinder and Zipstream

The cameras are optimized for surveillance on highways or intersections as well as general city surveillance.

Multidirectional cameras

Axis Communications also announced AXIS P3717-PLE Network Camera. The multidirectional high image resolution camera provides flexible positioning of four varifocal camera heads in one camera. This offers a panoramic 360° overview, or a combination of overviews and zoomed in details. Its IR illumination with individually controllable LEDs provides clear images even in low light or darkness.

Key product features include:

  • 8 MP (4x2MP) at up to 30 fps per channel
  • 360° IR illumination
  • Axis Lightfinder and Forensic WDR
  • Remote zoom and focus
  • Axis Zipstream for reduced bandwidth and storage needs

The cameras, with an integrated weathershield, can be used outdoor or indoor. The four-in-one camera enables a lower overall cost for cabling and installation services and includes a redundancy system between the SD card and server.

The camera is available through Axis' standard distribution channels at a suggested retail price of $1349.

Additional Axis' products and solutions will be showcased at GSX in Axis' booth #2251.
