Tradeshow Brings Mixed Reviews

So, it all comes down to this. Today is the final day of the new GSX 2018, and the final tally should show a mixed review. It seemed to me that attendance was down, but it has been falling for the past few years. On the high side, visitors were well qualified to discuss the issues of today's security solutions.

I came across some interesting worth sharing.

1. Smiths Detection is delivering effective lithium battery detection as an option on the HI-SCAN >scanners. The upgrades can be made on site.

2. Dahua Technology Brings to the market thermal imaging technology, the patented enhanced PoE, ePoE cameras with new night color technology.

3. Aerotun USA, a relative newcomer to the industry, brings zero maintenance mechanics and a continuous motion control to their turnstiles.

4. Panasonic has launched a new Multi-Sensor camera in its I-PRO Extreme line with four, 4K image sensors.

I will discuss more products in upcoming eNewsletters, after GSX winds up today.

On the fun side of any tradeshow, I had the opportunity to join my magazine colleagues at the annual pre-tradeshow dinner sponsored by Al Forman and Altronix. It's a great way to kick off three days of editorial work.

Also, in the lineup was an evening with 1,600 people enjoying a Securitas event at the Hard Rock Hotel, and dancing to the tunes of Foreigner. It was an incredible throw back to yesterday.

A finale with Hanwha and team, and 800 of their closest friends, at Madame Tousands wax museum.

I hope your GSX experience was a good one.
