Hopping From One Booth to Another

It's that time of year to go booth hopping in Las Vegas. It's time for ISC West 2019.

Rarely do I start making booth appointments for this event before March 1, but when I start I get more requests than I have time allowed. I feel bad about that, but the old adage of there are only so many hours in the day never rang more true. This year, I'm going to chat about one or two products that I find particularly interesting and vital to the security industry.

Today is the first day of the three day affair, and is usual; I make my first stop to visit with Al Forman at Altronix. I am a little superstitious; therefore after 20 years of these tradeshows, the Altronix visit is my tradition to kick off ISC West.

Altronix brings to the show floor this week, the new NetWay, 8-port Midspan with more power, a Gigabit (1Gb) Ethernet repeater for extended cable runs, and a versatile 5-port Ethernet switch that significantly reduces installation and equipment costs.

"Our new NetWay solutions provide the added power, extended range capabilities and cost-saving benefits that enable the latest edge devices to be installed with the highest degrees of efficiency," said Alan Forman, president of Altronix Corp. "Equally important, Altronix NetWay solutions feature the quality and reliability customers and installers need to keep systems running smoothly."

Altronix also is showcasing the new NetWay XTG PoE+ Gigabit Ethernet Repeater that extends data (video) up to 100m with a maximum possible range of up to 600m using multiple units. The unit is powered by the PoE/PoE+ it passes through.

Trove easily combines Altronix power with access controllers from the leading manufacturers, simplifying board layout and wire management, while providing extreme flexibility and scalability. Removable backplanes allow installers to easily configure and test system configurations prior to on-site installation, reducing time and labor – and increasing profitability.

"Trove delivers a highly-versatile access and power integration solution that makes system design and installation easier, faster, and more cost efficient," Forman said. The addition of new Trove rackmount models provides specifiers with added features in a highly desirable form factor."
