Allied Universal Hires Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Haugsland joins Allied Universal with more than 25 years of experience in sales, marketing and operations

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company in North America, recently hired Jim Haugsland as executive vice president of sales and marketing. He is based in the Santa Ana corporate office.

Haugsland joins Allied Universal with more than 25 years of experience in sales, marketing and operations with vast expertise in growing market share across diverse platforms and geographies, leading strategic innovation initiatives and creating value through effective change leadership.

“With Jim’s strategic expertise in sales management, solution selling and operational excellence, he will be instrumental in leading our organic growth initiatives, enhancing our global corporate brand, promoting our advanced technology, digital solutions and new capabilities as well as expanding our footprint in international markets,” said Steve Jones, CEO of Allied Universal.

For more than 23 years, Haugsland worked for KONE-- a global market leader in the elevator, escalator and smart building solutions industry with over 57,000 employees operating in 60 countries. In 1996, he joined KONE in service sales and quickly distinguished himself as one of the top producers in the U.S. A few years later, he was selected to join a group of emerging leaders working in Brussels, Belgium tasked to develop and implement a new global operating model across all of KONE’s business units and newly acquired companies.  There, he also led several strategic development projects focused on sales innovation and creating new sources of revenue.

As Vice President of the Pacific Southwest for KONE, he was responsible for strategic direction, sales transformation, profitable growth and customer satisfaction for a multi-division business in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada and was recognized nationally for record increases in sales and profitability. In addition, he led the acquisition and integration of several service companies and expanded vertical market coverage in greater Los Angeles market by opening new branch offices.

“This is the perfect time to be joining Allied Universal as this company is leading the transformation of the traditional manned guarding business and investing in new ways to deliver value to its customers,” said Haugsland. “In many respects, it’s like joining a $7 billion start up. Here, I will have the opportunity to build and shape how we serve our clients with the ultimate goal of helping to make the places we live, work, learn and play more secure for all.”

Haugsland received a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication/international business from the University of Iowa. He received several executive certificates in growth strategies and innovation from the London Business School, Columbia University Graduate School of Business, INSEAD Business School and IMD Business School for Management & Leadership.
