Mission 500 to Celebrate a Year of Giving at ISC East and SIA Honors Night

Mission 500, a nonprofit charitable organization, will celebrate a year of giving through several initiatives at ISC East and SIA Honors Night, to be held from November 20-21, 2019.

At the Mission 500 ISC East booth (#975) at the Javits Center in New York City, show attendees will be invited to create a “care package” of essential hygiene items that will be delivered to children and families in need, in partnership with Volunteers of America - Greater New York. Attendees may write a note of encouragement to be included in the package they assemble. Mission 500’s goal is to assemble 300 Hygiene Care Packs at ISC East this year.

At SIA Honors Night, to be held at the Current at Chelsea Piers, in New York City on November 20, attendees can contribute to Mission 500’s work via three types of financial donations. Monetary contributions can be made to support at risk children living in poverty in the United States; to create School Backpacks or Hygiene Care Packs filled with essential supplies and hygiene items for students attending Title One Schools across the country; and donations to support efforts combating human trafficking.

“We have had a great year and we are incredibly grateful to the security industry,” said Tom Nolan, Director of Strategic Partnerships, Mission 500. “The generosity from many individuals this year has changed the lives of hundreds of children and families.”

In addition, at SIA Honors Night, Mission 500 will present the Inaugural Corporate Responsibility Innovator Award to Brinks Home Security, a company in the security industry that has made a significant contribution to those in need. The Brinks Home Security team has worked on several Mission 500 projects within the past year, to create a long-term impact of Mission 500 programs and activities that go beyond financial contributions.

“Brinks Home Security is passionate about giving back to those in need at local, state, and national levels,” said Jeff Gardner, President and Chief Executive Officer. “We are honored that this work is recognized with the inaugural Mission 500 Innovators Award from SIA. Winning the award further inspires us to continue to sponsor and host initiatives like our annual 5K run/walk and we look forward to next year’s events.”
