ISC WEST 2020 In Person Event Has Been Canceled

Tradeshow will be transforming ISC West 2020 into an all-virtual event Oct. 5-7

It is official. Planning to go to Las Vegas for an in-person ISC West event? Well, it’s not going to happen this year. In person has been canceled, opting for a virtual event on Oct. 5-7.

Industry and market circumstances have forced trade show organizers to rethink in-person events. ISC West is following suit to many other industry events, opting for a virtual even to continue serving the security and public safety community.

The coronavirus pandemic has changed everything in the United States these days and the ISC West community of security integrators, installers, dealers and consultants, along with corporate, government and law enforcement/first responder practitioners, have frontline essential services and mission-critical responsibilities. Travel and budget restrictions placed on many companies and businesses play a major role in allowing attendees to travel to Las Vegas. Businesses now are only reopening, yet the pandemic continues to soar in many parts of the United States. Facilities are being redesigned to ensure public health and safety, so planning for thousands of visitors makes trade show planning a difficult task.

“While we are very disappointed to not be able to meet face-to-face this year in Las Vegas, we look forward to continuing to help the ISC West community engage via digital programs, resources and connections,” said Will Wise, group vice president at Reed Exhibitions. “Our team, along with our valued venue partner, Sands Expo and Venetian, is working on detailed planning and protocols for ISC West 2021, which will take place March 23-26, 2021.”

“We at SIA sincerely regret not being able to meet face-to-face in Las Vegas in 2020. We know the importance of ISC West to our community and know that we have a responsibility to our industry to adapt during this period,” said Pierre Trapans, SIA chairman. “We will continue to provide our members with timely information and resources on an on-going basis. We look forward to producing a great virtual event with the ISC team, anchored by a compelling SIA Education@ISC conference program delivered in a dynamic format in October.”

“We will be rolling out additional information on the ISC West 2020 Virtual Event soon, including formats for education, discussion groups, matchmaking, showcased solutions and technologies, plus elements to celebrate the security community, and support our charity partner Mission 500 and their key role in helping kids and families in crisis,” said Mary Beth Shaughnessy, event director of ISC Security Events.

Shaughnessy said they are assessing event viability regarding the ISC East 2020 event over the next 8 to 10 weeks. It is scheduled for Nov. 18-19 in New York City, held at the Javits Center. They are seeking guidance from the JJavitss Center, New York State, SIA the ASIS NYC Chapter and other Northeast regional association supports.

A digital poll has been sent out to gauge the interested of previous attendees, asking about their opinion of attending the New York City event.

“Our security community is committed and resilient and we look forward to continuing to rally and adapt with everyone to chart the course forward,” Shaughnessy said.

All amounts paid to attend the ISC West Expo or conference/education to date for the March 2020 ISC West edition will be refunded in the next 14 days. If an attendee or vendor does not receive a refund, please contact customer service at [email protected] or (800) 840-5602. Registrations prior to Dec. 27, 2019, will be contacted by a member of the customer service team to refund to registration fees manually.
