First Day Jitters

There is something different about the 2021 version of ISC West. I started to get that jittery feeling about the time I stepped outside the airport terminal. It is July, and it is Las Vegas.

Even coming from Texas, it is hotter than I thought it would be. I was not ready for Las Vegas heat. I am hoping convention center officials turned the air conditioning before the start of this tradeshow.

I am curious of what to expect this morning. I’m all for wider aisles to socially distance, I have my mask in my pocket and I’m ready to review the newest of the new security solutions. I am not sure what to expect. Here are a couple of things worth noting.

Here is a program where everyone is a winner. Join Mission 500 and COPS Monitoring in their quest to provide school supplies to children in need. Think of it this way, every donation helps. You are aware that this is not the first time Mission 500 has helped students go back to school with necessary supplies.

For six years now, COPS Monitoring is kicking off the event, committed with enough supplies to help 300 students. This kind of support goes a long way, and with your contribution; more students, more help. I am certain the many students in need at Crosspointe Elementary School.

"We are so very proud and honored to take part once again in giving back to our community," said COPS Monitoring’s President Jim McMullen. “We encourage industry professionals to participate in this most worthy cause so that these children in need have the supplies they need when classroom instruction resumes.”  Along with the supplies essential for a successful school year, each backpack will go home with a note to parents and guardians reminding them of the stable employment opportunities in their Boca Raton monitoring station, which is just 7 miles from Crosspointe Elementary.”

Crosspointe Elementary is a Title 1 school with 93% of the students receiving free or reduced lunch. Families struggle to provide their children with the necessary materials needed to be successful in school. Facility, parents and students are grateful for this partnership with Mission 500 and their sponsors.

Join COPS Monitoring, dig out your wallet, shake off the cobwebs and donate $25. Donations will be accepted until July 31. Jump on board at www.mission500.org/school-supplies-for-crosspointe.
