Satisfied Customers

Even though there were not throngs of attendees, as in past years, ASIS still produced a good tradeshow in Orlando. Many exhibitors that I talked with were pleased with the quality of booth visitors. Exhibitors know their products, and attendees saw upgraded technology and viable solutions for their end user.

Despite lower than normal participation, there was an upside that I think everyone could get used to going forward, that being the ability to walk into a booth and strike up a conversation right away.

My routine took me by the ASSA ABLOY both where I had a visit with Laura Fradette, Marketing Communications Manager. She explained to me the company’s hands-free entry solution.

Now more than ever, creating a healthy environment within your facility is essential. Low-touch and touchless hardware can help thwart the spread of germs by reducing the number of people handling levers, pulls, exit devices and other parts of the door opening. Right about now, stopping the spread of germs is on everyone’s mind.

I also bumped into A. J. DeRosa at Evolv Technologies. He is the chief revenue officer and a fascinating interview on a recent Podcast. Here is a link to that conversation about securing entertainment venues.

Among the many booth visits, Mike Taylor and I had a spirited conversation about tradeshows in general. Mike works for Identiv as its vice president of global sales. What will the tradeshow of the future look like? Maybe tradeshows as we once knew them as a gathering of 25,000 people has seen the peak. Manufacturers have thought creatively how to reach the integrator and end user, and thankfully report double digit growth.

When the chips are down, COVID-19, creative solutions are the order of the day. I have noticed that people do not sit back and wait out the pandemic. Most have found a new path to make it all work, and keep customers satisfied.
