ISC West Wraps Up With Nearly 20,000 Total Professionals in Attendance

ISC West, hosted in collaboration with premier sponsor the Security Industry Association (SIA), came to a close last Friday with record-breaking attendance growth for 2022. As the first major security and public safety event of the year, ISC West took place March 22-25 at the Venetian Expo in Las Vegas (SIA Education@ISC: March 22-24 | Exhibit Hall: March 23-25) and announced today an 88% growth variance for total attendance ahead of last year’s event in July.

With nearly 20,000 total security and public safety industry professionals in attendance, just under 12,000 dealers, installers, integrators, end users and consultant attendees reconnected at ISC West, many for the first time still since pre-pandemic times. Offering the chance to meet with over 550 exhibitors and brands, learn from over 65 SIA Education@ISC sessions, and network at over two dozen special events, ISC West proved to be a successful event where the industry heavily supported the need to be back in person at industry trade events.

“It truly was amazing to see all our attendees, exhibitors, and partners in person again! Clearly the security and public safety industry is ready to get back to face-to-face meetings as the Show Floor was packed and the electrifying energy consistently included positive messages throughout the week such as “exceeded our expectations,” “feels like 2019,” and “ISC West is back.” This industry is resilient, dedicated and passionate, and without our customers support and participation we could not have put on such a successful event. The entire ISC team says THANK YOU and we are excited about the positive momentum and are already looking ahead to future success and further growth,” stated Mary Beth Shaughnessy, Event Director of ISC Security Events.

While the Show Floor buzzed each day with many new components for 2022 – including the revamp of the SIA New Products & Solutions (NPS) Awards Program, which showcased 70+ participating products and solutions; the introduction of The Bridge (Powered by Intel), which featured curated complimentary education sessions focused on industry megatrends; and the reimagined Featured Area gateways, which modernized the look and feel of the Show Floor – the entire ISC West show experience was continually elevated through daily Keynote Series Sessions (featuring Rosemary Vassiliadis, director of aviation, Clark County Department of Aviation; Michael J. Bouchard, sheriff of Oakland County, Michigan; and Jenny Radcliffe, the “People Hacker”), the extensive SIA Education@ISC Program (showcasing a 119% growth in conferees this year!), and through a variety of special events hosted by premier sponsor SIA. For example, many of this year’s collaborative events focused to honor and support women in security, attract new young professionals as the future of the industry and showcase vertical market trends such as artificial intelligence, cloud storage, cybersecurity certifications and more.

“SIA was inspired by the outstanding growth seen at ISC West 2022 and by seeing the energy and dedication on the show floor, in the conference sessions and at events taking place throughout the week,” said SIA CEO Don Erickson. “This year’s show saw exceptional turnout for SIA’s signature events, including our Market Leaders Reception, RISE happy hour and Women in Security Forum breakfast and keynote, and great enthusiasm for the SIA Education@ISC conference program and SIA’s training offerings during the show. We were thrilled to help bring the industry together for an exciting opportunity to learn, explore cutting-edge technologies, network and collaborate.”

Up next is ISC East 2022, the Northeast’s leading security and public safety event, which is hosted in collaboration with SIA and in partnership with ASIS NYC and takes place Nov. 16-17 at the Javits Center in New York City. Back for 2022, ISC East will also be co-locating once again with the Natural Disaster & Emergency Management (NDEM) Expo, a comprehensive trade event dedicated to the preparation, response and recovery of physical and human assets of public and private organizations.

As a final reminder, save the date for ISC West 2023, which will continue to take place each spring as the first major security and public safety event of the year, with next year’s event taking place at the Venetian Expo in Las Vegas March 28-31 (SIA Education@ISC: March 28-30 | Exhibit Hall: March 29-31). Hexagon’s Accur8vision is a volumetric detection system that employs LiDAR technology to safeguard entire areas. Whenever it detects movement in a specified zone, it automatically differentiates a threat from a nonthreat, and immediately notifies security staff if necessary. Person detection is carried out within a radius of 80 meters from this device. Connected remotely via a portable computer device, it enables remote surveillance and does not depend on security staff patrolling the area.
