Live From GSX 2022: Day 1

GSX 2022 is officially underway! Keep your eyes on this space for the latest updates from the show floor in Atlanta. Remember to follow our GSX Live 2022 hub for anything and everything GSX-related across the Twittersphere. Similarly, you can follow SecurToday, CampusSecur—also all on Twitter—for pictures, videos, commentary, and up-to-the-minute news updates from the Security Today staff.

Every year, through our “Live From” program, we partner with a few different organizations to highlight their achievements of the past year and presence at the show to the rest of the industry. This year’s Live From partners are AlertEnterprise (Booth 2625), Axis Communications (Booth 3343) and Vistacom Control Room Solutions (Booth 1508).

AlertEnterprise

AlertEnterprise offers solutions in Physical Identity Access Management, Visitor Management, Policy-Based Access Control, AI-Powered Insider Threat Protection and Asset Governance. At GSX 2022, they’ll be announcing the release of Asset Governance, which “connects individual identities to physical assets such as keys, computers and company vehicles, helping organizations keep tabs on and protect physical assets from the moment they’re assigned to an employee, contingent worker or visitor—until they’re transferred to the next,” according to a recent news release. Be sure to drop by their booth for a live demonstration!

AlertEnterprise will also preview its new Safetrust and Sentry partnerships—and, as always, its Visitor Management and Policy-Based Access Control solutions. During the show, they’ll also be sponsoring the CSO Lounge.

Axis Communications

Axis Communications is bringing its latest solutions to Atlanta, including “cutting-edge cameras featuring the ARTPEC-8 chipset, video analytics with actionable insight, proactive device management tools, new audio solutions and more,” according to Axis representatives. You can visit the booth to meet with experts, see product demonstrations or even book a personalized booth tour.

Axis experts are also participating in multiple panels and presentations over the next few days. On Monday, Bruce Canal, COO, Segment Development Manager, Education is participating in two panels. The first, “The Current State of School Security,” will focus on the different threats facing K–12 and Higher Education campuses around the world, and how schools can combat them. In the second, “Incorporating Security Technology into the Architectural Design Process,” he'll discuss the importance of integrating security plans into the design process from the get-go.

On Tuesday, James Stark, Segment Development Manager, Retail, will co-sponsor a panel called “Soft on Crime…Who Really Pays the Price When Everyone is at Risk?” He’ll bring his knowledge and experience in the retail space to discuss the threats and challenges that these environments face every day—including legislation and prosecution, as well as their repercussions.

On Wednesday, James Marcella, Director of Industry and Associations, will give a presentation called “Taking a Closer Look at Redaction—Balancing Privacy and Efficient Security,” which will explore innovations in video surveillance and how to balance the privacy challenges that go with them.

Vistacom Control Room Solutions>

Vistacom Control Room Solutions is taking advantage of GSX to launch its newest product, Vistacom SecureView—which just so happens to have won a New Product of the Year Award in the category of DIY Security from this very publication! SecureView helps small-to-medium-sized organizations establish operations centers with a pre-configured and pre-engineered command center kit. Vistacom, which typically designs and integrates larger-scale control rooms, built off its previous experience to create an easy-to-use, quick and affordable solution.

SecureView is the result of an R&D process in which experts identified pain points among traditional security integrators trying to piece together disparate technologies. It offers an all-in-one command center solution that “allow[s] integrators to generate a single part number that becomes a pre-fabbed video wall and operator visualization solution—literally right out of the box with easy self-assembly instructions,” according to Vistacom experts.

Vistacom will also be showcasing the Captivate dvLED display from Nanolumens, which it will be using to display images from its latest Vistacom Control Room Solutions projects. Its projects typically encompass complex control rooms, security operations centers, GSOCs, NOCs, war rooms, and so on. Their primary focus is designing, engineering and installing the fundamental technologies that make these types of spaces function.

Vistacom CEO Angela Nolan will be attending the conference, as well as a control room sales team and a wide variety of subject matter experts. More info is available on the Vistacom website.

Finally, on Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Vistacom is co-hosting a rooftop party with partners AVA Security, HiveWatch and SiteOwl at Skyline Park on Ponce City Market. The party will feature vintage amusements, rides and games, minigolf, food and drinks, and the opportunity for fun and casual networking! The address is 675 Ponce De Leon Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA, 30308, and the link to register is here!
