LVT and Insight LPR Partner to Launch Mobile License Plate Recognition
The collaboration integrates high-accuracy plate detection into rapidly deployable units for retail, construction, and property management.

LiveView Technologies (LVT) is expanding its mobile surveillance capabilities through a new partnership with Insight LPR, bringing automated license plate recognition (LPR) to locations where fixed infrastructure is unavailable.
The integration allows private-sector customers in industries such as retail, logistics, and construction to deploy plate-reading technology on mobile units. The system is designed to address a growing demand for security in temporary or high-risk environments, including retail parking lots facing organized retail crime and multifamily housing developments.
The mobile LPR units capture vehicle data, color, and type with a reported 98% accuracy rate. Using high-resolution sensors effective up to 120 feet, the system generates automated alerts in less than 10 seconds when a vehicle on a "hotlist" is detected.
"License plate recognition is one of the most effective tools to protect against repeat offenders and organized retail crime," said George Bentinck, chief product officer at LVT.
Bentinck said the partnership allows security teams to move from reactive monitoring to proactive interception.
The technology is intended to outperform standard CCTV in low-light and inclement weather. Beyond real-time alerts, the system provides predictive analytics and time-stamped documentation to assist in investigations.
According to John Nethery, chief executive officer at Insight LPR, the goal is to provide actionable evidence in a field where many crimes remain unsolved due to a lack of vehicle data.
"We built our platform to do one thing exceptionally well—capture vehicle evidence that helps turn unsolved cases into closed ones," Nethery said.
Data privacy remains a central component of the rollout. LPR data is confined to the individual customer’s environment, and users retain full control over the information. Customers have the option to authorize data sharing with third parties or law enforcement in accordance with CJIS-compliant security standards.
The LPR capabilities are scheduled to be generally available in May.
