The Physical Security Interoperability Alliance, a global consortium of physical security providers focused on promoting the interoperability of IP-enabled devices, recently released its conformance tools for its 1.1 IP Media Device specification.

Proponents of video analytics claim the technology can boost the productivity of security staff by alerting them to take action in the event an incident occurs according to predetermined rules.
