On-Net Surveillance Systems Inc. (OnSSI) has announced that the Stoughton Area School District in South-Central Wisconsin has implemented its advanced multi-site NetDVMS NVR and camera management system to optimize the use of the district’s 62-camera video surveillance system.

March Networks, a provider of intelligent IP video and business analysis applications, announced recently that the Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA) has selected the company’s VideoSphere solution for enhanced passenger and staff security.
Even before the economic crisis, security directors or property managers could rarely afford to purchase the surveillance system they wanted. What began as a search for 10 cameras seen in a James Bond film resulted in 15 generic IP cameras and a few DVRs. They bought what they could afford, and in the worsening economy, the surveillance budget only gets tighter while the need grows.

The Department of Defense is rolling out more than 350 of Sony’s latest-generation 1.3 megapixel high-resolution network security cameras to its facilities worldwide. According to Strategic Solutions Unlimited (SSU), a security systems integrator based in Fayetteville, N.C., the Department of Defense is in the second phase of its camera deployment, adding 300 units to the 50 cameras initially installed in 2008.
