AtHoc's IWSAlerts software will enable Texas A&M University to send out emergency alerts to its campus population through multiple devices, including campus computers, via pop up alerts, Emergency Alert System radio broadcasts, cable TV, telephones, mass e-mails and SMS text messages, from a single Web-based console.
At Chapman University, officials are creating a system of digital security cameras to take advantage of a fiber-optic network that serves the 76-acre tree-lined university campus in Orange, Calif.

To diminish high school mischief, the Taos Municipal School District’s technology coordinator and network administrator began lobbying for surveillance cameras in Taos High School in New Mexico. The building also is used by the University of New Mexico for evening classes, which added afterhours security as another area of concern.

Technology from Bosch Security Systems is playing a principal role in a new CCTV installation at the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom as it extends the IP camera network to cover further areas of the university campus.
Bloom Township High School District 206 announced recently that it and seven other districts are the first schools in Illinois to install the Rapid Responder crisis management system to protect students and staff.

The latest IR lighting technology from Raytec is being installed at the Anchorage Christian School in Alaska as part of an upgrade to a 30-plus camera CCTV system.
While wireless locks have been around for a number of years, wireless locks that store information in the lock itself are brand new. Each stand-alone wireless lock is a panel that contains all information about the lock. Once programmed, the wireless lock continues processing independent of a server or computer.
