DoorKing Hires Two Regional Sales Managers
DoorKing recently announced the hiring of Steve Lawrence and Dan Morris as new regional sales managers.

Lawrence’s area of responsibility will include Southern California and parts of Nevada while Morris will be responsible for Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Vancouver, British Columbia. 

Lawrence comes to DoorKing from Alco Services in Palm Springs, Calif., where he was the branch manager. 

“I am very much enjoying my endeavors with this great group of people,” Lawrence said. “I look forward to many years of service with DoorKing.”
Morris comes to DoorKing from HySecurity, where he spent more than four years filling many different roles. His primary duties included working with architects, engineers and integrators, designing and writing specifications for complete perimeter security systems. He also worked closely with distributors, dealers and end users providing sales and technical support. 

“I’m extremely excited to be part of the DoorKing Sales team,” Morris said. “DoorKing is an innovative company that offers quality products that fit every customer’s needs. Morris will work out of the DoorKing Northwest sales office in Seattle.

Swann Communications Announces New North American Account Manager
Swann Communications, a provider of security monitoring solutions, recently announced the hiring of Jeff Shotlander as North American account manager.

Based in Toronto, Shotlander will oversee Swann’s Canadian distributors and resellers. In addition, he also will see to pre-existing Swann customers located in the Northeastern United States.

Shotlander was recruited by Swann for his broad knowledge of all aspects of the security industry. His expertise ranges from DIY consumer solutions to high-priced and complex security solutions for professional installers.

Prior to joining Swann Communications, Sholtander was employed by Lorex Corp., National Security Technologies and Chubb Security Systems.

Adesta Names Vice President of Business Development
Adesta LLC, a systems integrator and project management company for communication networks and electronic security systems, recently announced Rob Hile has joined its senior management team as vice president of business development.

Hile will manage a sales and marketing team that represents Adesta’s single source solutions for integrated communication networks and electronic physical security projects worldwide.

With more than 20 years of experience in the security industry, Hile has given his attention to numerous high-profile government institutions such as the Transportation Security Administration, the General Services Administration, the Department of Defense and the Department of Energy. 

“We’re very pleased to have an individual with Rob’s impressive credentials and vast knowledge of the security industry head up our sales and marketing teams,” said Bob Sommerfeld, president of Adesta. “Government and commercial customers alike reap the benefit of his expertise in integrated building security plans, CCTV and access control systems and the convergence of IT and physical security systems. Before joining Adesta, Hile held senior management-level positions with Convergint Technologies, GVI Samsung and TAC-Americas. While at TAC-Americas, Hile and his federal/national accounts team received TAC-Americas highest honor, the Chairman’s Award, for its contribution to the collective success of the company.
Hile serves as chairman of the SIA’s government relations committee. As chairman, he also serves on the board of directors for SIA. Hile is a founding member of the General Services Administration Quality Alliance Council and was recently named to the GTSI InteGuard Alliance board of directors.

Vice President of Strategic Development Joins Westec InterActive
Westec InterActive, a producer of intelligent business, recently announced security industry veteran Rollie Trayte has joined the company as vice president of strategic development.

In the position, Trayte will be responsible for developing customized security and operations improvement programs for the convenience store, petroleum, retail and specialty retail and quick-serve market segments.

Trayte has more than 30 years’ experience in law enforcement and retail security. While at Conoco Phillips, Trayte began using new technologies, such as Westec’s interactive security, to dramatically improve security and safety at Circle K stores across the country. As director of loss prevention and security for Circle K, Trayte was responsible for more than 2,500 company-operated stores and nearly 17,000 branded retail/wholesale locations.

In 1996, while at Circle K, Trayte became one of Westec’s first customers when he installed 100 interactive security systems at Circle K locations on the West Coast.
“Rollie Trayte’s first-hand experience with Westec and his extensive industry experience gives our customers the kind of strategic perspective that quickly impacts their bottom line,” said Gerald T. Vento, Westec InterActive chairman and owner. “We are pleased to welcome Rollie to this side of the team.”

Trayte, who received his bachelor’s degree from Dennison University in Ohio, is a frequent contributor to industry magazines and regularly speaks at retail security and loss prevention events. He also is active in his community, sharing his crime prevention knowledge with a shelter for domestic violence victims and implementing a version of the “crime-stoppers” program he developed in Ohio.

FOR-A Appoints Regional Sales Managers
FOR-A Corp. of America, a  manufacturer of video and audio systems for the broadcast and professional video industries, has named Pedro Silvestre as regional sales manager for the Caribbean and Latin America. Silvestre isbased out of FOR-A’s new Miami office.

Silvestre was most recently the regional sales manager for Verite Broadcast Solutions, a systems integrator and broadcast equipment dealer in Miami. Prior to that, he was the director of sales for Latin America for OneTouch, a developer of enterprise-wide, e-learning solutions for corporate television networks. While at OneTouch, Silvestre turned Latin America into 20 percent of the company’s sales revenue. He also has worked as an editor at the independent television station KTSF in Brisbane, Calif.

“We’re thrilled to have someone with Pedro’s background join us at FOR-A,” said Susumu Hotta, president and CEO, FOR-A Corp. of America. “He’s been involved in every aspect of broadcast production, as an editor with a station, working with a dealer/integrator and representing a manufacturer. Sirit Names Chief Technology Officer, Vice President of Engineering
Sirit Inc., a provider of RFID reader technology, recently announced the appointment of Bruce Roesner to the position of chief technology officer and vice president of engineering.
In the role, Roesner will manage the company's RFID product and solutions development across all application areas.

"Earlier this year, we began a working relationship with Bruce on a development project during which we realized that with his broad and extensive RFID acumen, Bruce was the logical fit to head our overall corporate development team," said Norbert Dawalibi, president and CEO of Sirit. "Bruce has been a forerunner in the RFID market for years and is well respected among industry leaders for his vision and ability to translate it into leadership products and solutions. I am joined by the entire Sirit management team in welcoming him to his new role."

After starting his career with industry leaders like Hughes Aircraft Co., Burroughs Corp. and Applied Micro Circuits, Roesner has been an entrepreneur and technologist in the domains of IC design and RFID. He was the founder of a number of technology companies, including Instant Circuit Holdings, SCS Corp. and ClarIDy Solutions.
He was instrumental in the development of low-cost RFID tags used in inventory tracking and control applications, which won him Most Innovative Product and Entrepreneurial Team of the Year awards.

Roesner is the author of numerous publications and presentations on the subject of high-technology electronics, including RFID. He also is the holder of more than 25 patents and earned a master’s degree and Ph.D. from Purdue University.

Director of Sales Named At Sedona Office
Sedona Office, a developer of financial accounting, business process and relationship management software for the security industry, has hired Paul Victor as its new director of sales.

Victor comes to Sedona with a strong sales background, as well as executive managerial experience. In his new position, Victor is in charge of developing new accounts, working with current dealers and strengthening the company’s position.

Before joining Sedona Office, Victor spent nearly 25 years in technology sales and marketing, holding senior positions with several technology companies, including Impact Solutions Consulting, Cabletron, Technology Solutions Co. and SmartData Inc.

Most recently, he served as vice president and partner with start-up consulting firm Coastal Technology.

“I’m excited to join Sedona Office because of its product quality, high level of support, tremendous market position and commitment to the alarm industry,” Victor said. “I truly see great opportunities ahead.”
