Malaysian Company Uses ACTi Solution To Protect Training Center

Telekom Malaysia Berhad TM is a provider of information communication technologies in Malaysia. Recently, the company upgraded its surveillance with ACTi’s IP surveillance solutions to protect students in their training centers during the day and night. Due to the crime issues at the centers, the system also provide higher security for their female students. The project was carried out by Elite Communication, a system integrator for EKTECH Consulting, the distributor of ACTi.

Telekom Malaysia Berhad TM choses IP surveillance system because company officials were familiar with the technology. The training center buildings also are equipped with a fiber infrastucture, making any bandwidth problems non-existent.

As the training centers are spread out in six different locations throughout Malaysia, remote viewing is necessary to their management level without travelling around. TM also required the monitoring and recording in mutliple side includinhg security guard office, security director’s office and the company’s central control center simultaenosuly.

An analog or DVR system couldn’t fulfill such requirements. Thanks to ACTi' ability to meet requirements regarding cost efficiency, security, reliability and quality, TM decided to implement a fully IP surveillance solution involving the installation of ACTi’s outdoor IP speed dome, CAM-6210 and outdoor IP camera, CAM-5100H at multiple site across TM. Each IP Camera is accessible individually via username and password without requiring a central PC or DVR. Security personnel can easily survey any of the sites remotely and view the video at their PCs, wherever they work.

"We thank ACTi’s high quality D1 IP video to secure our student’s safety" said T. Zanal Abdin T. Muhamud, technical officer of Telekom Malaysia Berhad. “It is cost-effective compared to standard DVR solutions.
