Inovonics Offers Wireless Security Seminar At ISC West

Inovonics, a provider of commercial grade wireless security, will be holding an educational seminar about wireless security, addressing the spectrum of technologies and applications, at the ISC West Café Theater in Las Vegas at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 2.

“Our world is increasingly wireless and the commercial security industry is no exception,” said Mark Jarman, Inovonics president. “But wireless is a broad umbrella. We’re taking the opportunity ISC affords to educate dealers about which wireless technology is most appropriate for their needs.”

Wireless systems can be run on a number of different platforms from narrow-band, radio-frequency technologies to Wi-Fi, but each technology is suited for specific applications.

The seminar will help to address the various environments and the applicable wireless technologies. Special emphasis will be given to EchoStream, Inovonics’ next generation of 900Mhz radio-frequency technology, most often used in commercial intrusion and burglary detection applications. Case studies of existing installations using EchoStream will be presented along with guidance on how to use the Echostream technology for a variety of other sensor and control applications.

“EchoStream not only saves installers money today, but because it’s designed with future applications in mind, it will save money for the customer tomorrow, too. It’s an easy, cost-effective sell,” Jarman said.

The cost-saving benefits of wireless applications for installers will be highlighted at Inovonics’ ISC West Booth No. 24115. Inovonics is encouraging dealers to bring actual bids to the booth so that real-world, wireless savings can be applied to it, in some cases saving up to 58 percent on the cost of an installation.

Hexagon’s Geosystems presents a portable version of its Accur8vision detection system. A rugged all-in-one solution, the A8V MIND (Mobile Intrusion Detection) is designed to provide flexible protection of critical outdoor infrastructure and objects. Hexagon’s Accur8vision is a volumetric detection system that employs LiDAR technology to safeguard entire areas. Whenever it detects movement in a specified zone, it automatically differentiates a threat from a nonthreat, and immediately notifies security staff if necessary. Person detection is carried out within a radius of 80 meters from this device. Connected remotely via a portable computer device, it enables remote surveillance and does not depend on security staff patrolling the area.
