GE Security Launches Authorized GSA Service Provider Program

GE Security, Inc., a business of GE Enterprise Solutions, recently announced the company has modified its contract with the General Services Administration (GSA) to update the schedule of available GE Security products.

With the updated contract, GE Security’s authorized GSA service providers will have the ability to sell GE Security products and provide service to federal, state and local government agencies across the U.S.

Along with the updated contract, select GE Security partners will have access to the approved GSA product schedule through the company’s newly created GE Security Authorized GSA Service Provider Program. This program was developed as a way to streamline the governmental procurement process and ensure government agencies’ needs are being met in a timely and cost effective manner. The ability to secure more government contracts is expected to provide approved GE Security partners with significant new opportunities for increased revenue.

“GE Security is continuously looking for ways to help our partners grow their businesses and better serve their end user customers,” said Dean Seavers, president and CEO, GE Security. “The new GE Security Authorized GSA Service Provider Program does both. In addition, our new GSA contract represents a significant step towards strengthening relationships with our valued partners and with government customers at all levels.”

State and local governments are now permitted to purchase goods and services off of the GSA Schedule for Security and Fire Equipment (Schedule 84) as a result of legislation passed by Congress earlier this year. This will allow state and local governments to benefit from the federal government's pricing power and further save by avoiding costly bidding and procurement processes.

The updated GSA contract includes product solutions designed for law enforcement, security, facility management systems, fire and life safety, intrusion, access control, alarm and signal systems and video.

“Today’s announcement demonstrates our strong relationship with the GSA and gives our authorized service providers an efficient means to pursue government projects,” said Kenneth Gray, GSA program manager, GE Security. “By participating in this program and gaining access to GE Security products and solutions already approved by the GSA, our authorized service providers are able to provide government agencies with comprehensive security and fire and life safety solutions that help solve their real-world problems.”

In order to be considered as a member of the GE Security Authorized GSA Service Provider Program, a formal application and review process must be conducted. Program information is available from GE Security sales managers.
