Two Casinos Add Pivot3 Surveillance Storage Solution

Pivot3 Inc. recently announced two new customers in the gaming surveillance storage market. Chinook Winds Casino Resort in Lincoln City, Ore., and Silverton Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas have both installed Pivot3 solutions to store, protect and retrieve critical video surveillance data.

“Pivot3's storage products are being easily integrated into our casino surveillance system,” said Abe Martin, surveillance manager at Chinook Winds Casino Resort. “We needed reliable, high-capacity storage that was simple to configure, install and maintain. Pivot3’s storage solution allows us to focus on managing our business instead of managing storage.”

“Storage for surveillance is a specialized field,” said Charles Williams, director of surveillance for the Silverton Hotel and Casino. “We were delighted to find both a storage product that was clearly built for this purpose and a storage partner in Pivot3, which is focused on getting our system configured, installed, and certified.”

Pivot3’s strong focus on the surveillance market has been a strong differentiator for the company. The company is a member of the Security Industry Association (SIA) and the National Indian Gaming Association (NIGA). The Pivot3 team includes a director of tribal gaming, Adam Radford, who is based in Florida, and a vice president of corporate gaming, Mike Schaeffer, who is based in California.

“We expect to see rapid adoption of advanced storage solutions like Pivot3 in gaming markets due to the high financial exposure involved and the regulation factor,” said Dilip Sarangan, industry analyst for physical security at Frost & Sullivan. “Since clustered storage offers both high availability and reduces user risk, it is a powerful tool for surveillance directors who struggle to manage the growing capacity requirements inherent in the transition from analog to digital solutions.”

“We are seeing a mass migration to shared storage in the gaming market,” said Lee Caswell, co-founder and chief marketing officer of Pivot3. “Once users see the availability, bandwidth and cost advantages of Pivot3, they are quick to adopt the technology as a way to simplify the management and reduce the risk of burgeoning data storage requirements.”
