Capt. Richard Phillips to be Keynote Speaker at CSO Roundtable Track during ASIS 2009

Capt. Richard Phillips, who became the center of an extraordinary international drama when he was captured in April by Somali pirates who hijacked his ship, will be the keynote speaker for the CSO Roundtable track at the ASIS International 55th Annual Seminar and Exhibits. ASIS 2009 will be held Sept. 21-24 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. ASIS is the preeminent organization for security management professionals worldwide.

Capt. Phillips' keynote address, to be held from 11 a.m. to noon on Monday, Sept. 21 at the Anaheim Convention Center, is by invitation only. Capt. Phillips was in charge of the Maersk Alabama, the first U.S.-flagged ship to be hijacked in more than 200 years. He will tell the compelling story of his actions to save his crew and the ship.

The CSO Roundtable is an ASIS International invitation-only group of top security executives from the world's largest companies. The CSO track, with nine sessions, targets the specific needs and concerns of chief security officers and their top deputies. Sessions will cover such topics as information protection, terrorism, pandemic planning and leadership during a crisis.
