ISC West Earns Seventh Consecutive ‘Fastest 50’ Growing Tradeshow Honors

For the seventh year in a row, ISC West has been recognized as one of the Fastest 50 growing tradeshows in North America by leading industry publication Tradeshow Week.

ISC West has attained this status every year that Tradeshow Week has conducted the "Fastest 50" program. Sponsored by the Security Industry Association (SIA) and organized by Reed Exhibitions, ISC West serves more than 23,000 security professionals every year.

The "Fastest 50" winners are selected based on their growth in net square footage over the previous three years (2006-2008). The judging team is comprised of the editorial and research staff at Tradeshow Week . Three top prizes will be awarded in November in categories including the fastest growing trade and association show, the fastest growing consumer show, and the overall fastest growing show.

"We are particularly pleased on earning this recognition over the past three years considering some of the economic hurdles that trade events have had to overcome recently," said Ed Nichols, industry vice president of ISC Events. "As the only trade show in the physical security industry to obtain this recognition in 2009, we're thrilled that our customers put their confidence in our ability to deliver enhanced value, service and marketplace relevance. We want to thank our customers for their continued support for and confidence in the ISC West-SIA partnership to deliver superior customer value and growth for the industry."

"As the proud, sole sponsor of the ISC Events, we are particularly pleased to partner with the ISC events portfolio," said Richard Chace, CEO of the SIA. "We believe that this honor solidifies our mutual objective of making meaningful contributions to the sustained growth of the industry and for providing valuable marketing opportunities for our members."

Years ago, it would have been significantly more expensive to run an analytic like that — requiring a custom-built solution with burdensome infrastructure demands — but modern edge devices have made it accessible to everyone. It also saves time, which is a critical factor if a missing child is involved. Video compression technology has played a critical role as well. Over the years, significant advancements have been made in video coding standards — including H.263, MPEG formats, and H.264—alongside compression optimization technologies developed by IP video manufacturers to improve efficiency without sacrificing quality. The open-source AV1 codec developed by the Alliance for Open Media—a consortium including Google, Netflix, Microsoft, Amazon and others — is already the preferred decoder for cloud-based applications, and is quickly becoming the standard for video compression of all types.
