Honeywell Integrates Codebench Software With Pro-Watch Security Management Sytem

Honeywell recently announced an enhancement for its used Pro-Watch security management system that will help organizations more easily comply with stringent U.S. government regulations.

By integrating Codebench’s PIVCheck software suite with Pro-Watch, Honeywell can help its customers validate digital certificates on access cards through an appropriate government authority and register those cards into Pro-Watch. This allows organizations to efficiently comply with requirements -- such as TWIC,   HSPD-12 and FIPS-201 -- that require government facilities to maintain up-to-date employee identification records.

The integrated solution has already been implemented at sites such as Delaware’s Port of Wilmington, the leading North American importation site for fresh fruit, bananas and juice concentrate. The system allows the port to comply with expanded TWIC regulations that require it to implement software that can read TWIC cards. It also allows port officials to access lists of unauthorized users and re-validate TWIC cards each day, once they are enrolled using the Honeywell system.

“The PIVCheck software suite from Codebench is the technological bridge between Pro-Watch and the federal networks that govern whether a TWIC or PIV card is valid,” said Beth Thomas, senior product marketing manager for Honeywell Security Group. “We are very pleased to be working with Codebench to offer best-in-class solutions for physical security and government card validation.”

Many organizations and corporations use the Pro-Watch platform to integrate various security subsystems, including visitor management, access control, video surveillance, intrusion and communications such as intercom and mass notification technology. The system -- which interoperates with technology from several third-party vendors -- can also integrate with existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.

PIVCheck is an end-to-end card validation, authentication and registration solution that registers PIV, TWIC, CAC, and FRAC cards into security management systems. It uses three-factor identification to determine the cardholder’s unique identifying data and biometric information, and verifies the validity of the card by checking with the appropriate card validation authority or other entity, such as the TSA hot list.

“As one of the major access control and security management solutions providers, Honeywell’s broad presence in the market will give Codebench excellent additional exposure to new customers,” said Geri B. Castaldo, Codebench CEO. “The solution from Codebench and Honeywell enables facilities to leverage their existing access control infrastructure for TWIC and HSPD-12 compliance during a time when every budget dollar counts.”
