March Networks Expands IP Video Integration Capabilities with Secure City Technology Alliance

March Networks, a global provider of intelligent IP video solutions, announced its founding membership in the Secure City Technology Alliance (SCTA) - a newly formed coalition of technology and market leaders focused on providing government authorities with interoperable, city-wide security solutions that dramatically improve public safety and emergency response.

Governments face significant pressure to equip their emergency teams to prevent, respond to and recover from disasters and threats in an informed and coordinated manner. As a result, investment in city-wide security solutions is expected to reach US $5.7 billion by 2014, according to projections based on data from IMS Research and Infonetics Research. More than half of that market - approximately US $3.2 billion - is expected to be dedicated to networked video surveillance functions within critical public concerns including utilities, hospitals and all forms of transportation.

SCTA members have ensured interoperability across their solutions, which span integrated video surveillance, voice communications, sensor monitoring, mass notification and telecollaboration capabilities. As a result, they will deliver end-to-end solutions that simplify and accelerate the transformation process and save public organizations both time and money. March Networks' IP video surveillance technology is integral to the end-to-end solutions. Its portfolio provides the immediate, real-time monitoring and archived video capture capabilities that authorities require to proactively secure facilities, mitigate risk, and respond to emergencies in a highly coordinated and efficient manner.

"This alliance addresses the demand we are seeing globally from our government and transportation customers, who are working to integrate their IP video systems into a larger framework for improved incident response and public security," said Peter Strom, president and CEO, March Networks. "With the ability to better deploy and manage these interoperable solutions, our customers will be able to realize the full potential of their video surveillance systems."
