Matrix Systems, Codebench Streamline Frontier HSPD-12 Compliance

Matrix Systems, a Miamisburg, Ohio-based turnkey access control and security solutions provider, and Codebench Inc., of Coconut Creek, Fla., have formed a partnership to streamline Home Security Presidential Directive-12 (HSPD-12) compliance for Frontier™ access control software end users.

The integration of Codebench’s PIVCheck® Plus with Frontier software offers Matrix Systems customers an easy solution to complying with government-mandated Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS-201) personal verification credentials. PIVCheck Plus is an authentication software and hardware solution that bridges federal governing networks with physical access control systems (PACS).

Matrix Systems customers can now use their Frontier PACS to maintain a single ID credential when managing employee access and verification in authorized facility areas requiring Personal Identity Verification (PIV), Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) First Responder Authentication Credential (FRAC), Common Access Cards (CAC) and other FIPS-201 verification standards.

Frontier is an industry-leading open architecture PACS designed specifically for government, transportation, healthcare, education, commercial and industrial facilities. “This streamlines the access control process for our clients currently requiring HSPD-12 and prepares our organization for the future when some of our major categories of education, healthcare and aviation establish their own respective FIPS-201 requirements,” said Jim Russell, vice president-sales, Matrix Systems.

PIVCheck Plus with Certificate Manager is a solution to identifying whether a PIV, TWIC, FRAC or CAC credential is altered, revoked and presented by its rightful owner. It also automatically enrolls selected card holder data directly into the Frontier database.

PIVCheck Plus has been successfully deployed since 2008 and is currently integrated with 20 different PACS.

“We are pleased to add Matrix Systems to the many access control manufacturers who look to Codebench to augment their own product suite with our GSA-approved HSPD-12 compliant software,” said Geri B. Castaldo, Codebench CEO.

This new feature is now available to all Luma x20 users globally. “The Luma x20 family of surveillance solutions provides excellent image and audio capture, and with the new customer handoff feature, it now offers absolute privacy for camera feeds and recordings,” Webb said. “With notifications and integrator access controlled through the powerful OvrC remote system management platform, it’s easy for integrators to give their clients full control of their footage and then to get temporary access from the client for any troubleshooting needs.”
